Chapter 1,055: “New Era”.
- This week’s Color Spread is “One Piece Film Red”, a poster drawn by Oda (with Luffy Shanks & Uta).
- Chapter begins in Flower Capital. Nami, Tama and Zeus enjoy the party and the food.
- Momonosuke’s defeat by Ryokugyuu takes place outside the city. Yamato is keen to help but Momonosuke insists on staying out of the fight.
- Raizou uses his technique “Ninpo Maki Maki noJutsu” to shoot a fire attack on Ryokugyuu.
- Ryokugyuu appears to be affected by Raizou’s attack. However, he is only joking. After that, he uses “Bokarin”, a technique which allows him to extinguish the flames.
- Ryokugyuu says: “You thought you would be able defeat a Marine Admiral by relying solely on such a clear weakness —-!!!”
- Ryokugyuu begins sucking Raizou’s nutrients by stabbing Raizou’s abdomen with one of the branches.

- Kawamatsu tries his best to help him, but they still grow despite cutting many roots and branches. Ryokugyuu finally catches Denjirou Kawamatsu and Nekomamushi.
- The secret room of Kouzuki Sukiyaki can be found by cutting the cord. We can see a secret passageway leading to a long set of stairs in the ground. Law and Sukiyaki walk down the stairs together with Robin.
- Robin questions Law about whether he can follow her scents. Law says he’s no hyena. Law was unable find Robin and her two nakamas at this party so he searched her.
- Sukiyaki states that he has never told Kaidou, Orochi or about this passageway. However, a Cyojin (one of the most important members of Beasts Pirates) could locate the Poneglyph in no time.
- Robin is curious as to why Cyojins are able find it. Sukiyaki explains to Robin that seeing the world for themselves is better.
- Sukiyaki begins telling the story about Wanokuni. Robin interrupts Sukiyaki when she sees a light from the passageway.
- Robin asks Sukiyaki about it. Sukiyaki explains that she can visit the area to find out what it looks like, since a glass blocks the water, which is why they are at the bottom.
- Robin crawls into the hole, Law is teleported with her. Both can see through the glass the ruins and remains of an ancient city beneath the ocean.
- Sukiyaki told them that ruins is the other land Wanokuni which existed 800 years ago. It’s not seawater so the ruins survived in good shape.
- Sukiyaki explains how the Wanokuni people died (this scene has several panels to show you what it was like).
- Wanokuni was an ancient country, about three times larger than it is today. It was found at the bottom of Mount Fuji, the same level as the sea.
- The country was then locked up by the huge walls surrounding it at one point in their history. The country began to flood from the rain water.
- After that, the rainwater reached the highest point of the walls. Water began to fall off them creating great waterfalls (the ones Luffy and Big Mom Pirates had climbed).
- People decided to abandon the original Wanokuni, and instead built a new country on the mountainside of Mount Fuji. This is the current Wanokuni.
- They reach the bottom of stairs. Sukiyaki unlocks a secret door that opens to a large space where the Road Poneglyph is. Robin claims that they can travel to Laugh Tale if there is one more.
- Sukiyaki states this room is situated on a high platform in the cave at Mount Fuji’s base. Below is the “Ancient Weapon Pluton”.
- Sukiyaki cannot show Robin and Law the weapon because he has never seen it.
- Sukiyaki: To bring “Pluton out”, Wanokuni’s walls must be toppled! This means that “Opening a border” is to demolish the defensive walls in this country.
- Robin wonders if Kouzuki Oden would do something similar. Sukiyaki stated that he shared everything with them that had been passed down through the Shogun family.
- Sukiyaki: “I don’t know what Oden discovered while he was at sea …”.
- Return to the Flower Capital’s outside. Ryokugyuu has trapped Yamato’s Red Scabbards.
- Ryokugyuu said that Kaidou wouldn’t have been here if he continued to rule the country. Kaidou is the reason Wanokuni was kept from its enemies.
- Ryokugyuu wants to bring Ryokugyuu “Straw Hat Luffy”. When he takes his hair, he will leave this country.
- Yamato told Momonosuke he should ask Luffy or the rest for help because they won’t lose against such a man.
- Momonosuke, crying, says he doesn’t need Yamato or Luffy’s help. Yamato asks him not to help.
- Momonosuke – “You’ve been in Onigashima all of your life!” But now, you’re free! This is why I want you out! Luffy and Zoro, as well as the others… I can’t always rely on them for help! We must be able, together with our countrymen, to defend ourselves against all threats! We cannot give it away to those who are about leaving!! If we do… How will we protect our country for the future !!?”
- Ryokugyuu mocks Momonosuke for his childish attitude. He says he didn’t think a dragon could ever be so embarrassing.
- Momonosuke desperately needs a “Bolo” and manages to take a photo that passes through Ryokugyuu’s treebody.
- Yamato and Red Scabbards elude capture. Ryokugyuu gazes at Momonosuke. It’s unbelievable what he cannot believe.
- Yamato is shocked that Momonosuke could master the power and fury of the dragon. Denjirou believes that Momonosuke has not been aiming well
- Momonosuke kills Ryokugyuu with another “Bobo Breath” and burns him. Ryokugyuu then grows a small tree behind the burned body.
- Ryokugyuu continues the battle by changing his appearance.
- Ryokugyuu says: “Ahhh…Wellif that’s your GAME…Fine, Kaido Wannabe…I will pierce the mouth to the tail !!!”
- Black lightning suddenly appears in the distance. Ryokugyuu feels paralysed, and he screams.
- Ryokugyuu: “Wahh~~~~.! !Wait, wait! !That’s Conqueror’s Haki!! Who are you? Red Hair Pirates!? They are so close!
- Red Hair Pirates ship is still in sea near Wanokuni. Shanks are asked to stop by some members or they will all faint.
- Shanks: “I won’t say you’re despicable ! It’s not! But, a Marine focusing on those “new foliage” that have just changed the pirate history… I find it tasteless.
- Shanks said, “This is where we can see some memories together with Luffy” (when Luffy cut on his face), Momonosuke (“as a baby together with Oden), Hiyori (“at her birth )…), as well as a silhouette of Uta,” Shank’s character in “One Piece Film Red”, which we also see).
- Then, we are shown a close-up of Shanks. He’s extremely angry.
- Shanks: ‘Are your afraid of the coming “New Era ‘?!?”?”
- Ryokugyuu returns to his usual form and states that he will not fight Shanks or his men. At least not for now. He finally decides not to stay.
- Yamato celebrates Momonosuke & the Red Scabbards. Momonosuke weeps with joy.
- In the Flower Capital, we can see that Brook and Usopp, Chopper, Franky and Toko are still together.
- Outside of the city, Luffy can be seen sitting on the ground together with Zoro Sanji and Jinbe.
- Luffy: “He’s gone!! Shishishi!!”
- Sanji: “Looks to them like they didn’t require our help.”
- Zoro: “Momo, I’m impressed…”
- Jinbe: That Haki was quite impressive.
- Luffy: “I know!! Luffy: “I’m sure!”
- Luffy smiles and we can see the ship of Red Hair Pirates departing from Wanokuni.
- Luffy: “Somehow, an familiar face popped out in my mind.
