Axiom, an Melbourne, Australia, and New York-based firm that provides on-demand legal talent purchased Plexus Engage, an affiliate of Australian law technology firm Plexus.
The price of the deal wasn’t revealed.
The acquisition allows Axiom to offer its global clients local legal services in Australia and Australia-headquartered clients access to Axiom services in North America, Europe, and Asia. In the course of the ongoing partnership, Axiom will be utilizing Plexus’s technology to improve the efficiency of Axiom’s global business. Plexus Engage General Manager, Richard Kohinga, will continue to oversee the company as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Axiom, which operates as Axiom Global Australia.

Plexus Engage offers flexible in-house lawyers for legal teams to help with projects or increase capacity. More than 80 lawyers in active and bench status serve a variety of clients from the areas of transportation, software business services, insurance and hospitality, utilities, and retail sectors, along with public entities and educational.
Directed by David McVeigh, Chief Executive Officer, Axiom supplies its clients worldwide with attorneys proficient in every major practice area, including data privacy and intellectual property contract and commercial law, employment law, finance, real estate lawsuits, M&A, and regulatory and compliance.
Axiom currently serves various clients, from mid-market innovators, to more than fifty percent of Fortune 500, and performs 3,000 or more engagements yearly. The acquisition will broaden Axiom’s client base and expand its existing team, which includes 6,900+ lawyers.
